Polypropylene Filter Plate Repair and Replacement
In industrial mining operations, filter press plates have to withstand significant pressure and high volumes of slurry on a daily basis. Because of this, they are susceptible to wear and tear and may require occasional repairs. M. W. Watermark™ offers high-density polypropylene filter plate repair and replacement services to help keep your operation moving forward.
What We Offer
At M. W. Watermark, our experienced technicians will evaluate and repair your worn or damaged filter plates. For your convenience, you can start by simply sending in photos to help us evaluate the type of work that may be needed, including cleaning, welding or new components. In addition to our recommendation, we will also provide a cost estimate upfront. If you decide to go forward with the repairs, ship us your filter plates and we’ll perform the recommended services in-house. We know you can’t afford much downtime, so we will make every effort to get your plates serviced and back to you as soon as possible.
Our repair capabilities include:
- Cleaning – Our techs will thoroughly wash the plates and restore them to like-new condition
- Welding – We perform plastic welding to address cracks, air holes, erosion, clogged nozzles and more
- Replacement Parts – Your filter plates might require new plate packing (gasketing / packing seals / collars), handles, slide blocks, wear pads or other plastic pieces and rubber components
Should You Repair or Replace?
With a high-speed mining press, you might encounter common issues like ruptured membranes or clogged nozzles, which, if not repaired, can cause premature wear. Whenever possible, we recommend repairing filter plates both from an environmental and also a cost-savings standpoint. Depending on the size and brand, new plates can cost anywhere from $500 to $1,000 per plate. If you have multiple broken plates, you could be looking at upwards of $7,000 or more to replace them. But when you take advantage of M. W. Watermark’s repair services, you could save more than half the cost.
However, if a filter plate is significantly worn or damaged and does need to be replaced, M.W. Watermark can supply plates for multiple size configurations and many makes and models of filter presses. Plate sizes include: 1.5 x 1.5 m, 1.5 x 2 m, 2 x 2 m, 2.5 x 3 m and more. Filter press manufacturers include: Metso®, Larox®, Ishigaki® and IPM® as well as others.
